PledgeOFF is a commitment contract platform. You pledge real money on a personal challenge, check in daily, and receive a full refund if you succeed. If you fail, your pledge is distributed to charity (65%) and PledgeOFF (35%).
You must be 18 years or older to use PledgeOFF. By creating an account, you confirm you are of legal age in your jurisdiction and are legally permitted to enter into binding financial agreements.
When you start a challenge and complete payment, you enter a binding commitment contract. The pledge is non-negotiable: there are no partial refunds based on partial completion. Missing a single day ends the challenge immediately.
Pledges are charged immediately via Stripe. The service fee (€3 per challenge) is non-refundable regardless of outcome. The pledge portion is refunded automatically within 3–5 business days if you win. Refunds are processed to the original payment method only.
We review emergency requests (medical, bereavement) submitted within 48 hours with documentation. Approved exceptions may result in grace periods or refunds at our sole discretion. We are not obligated to grant exceptions.
Check-ins are currently self-reported. You agree to report honestly. Fraudulent check-ins (checking in while violating your commitment) are a breach of these terms and may result in account suspension without refund.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, commit fraud, or abuse the platform. Active pledges from terminated accounts are forfeited.
PledgeOFF is not responsible for any personal harm, financial loss beyond the pledged amount, or unintended consequences of participating in challenges. Use the platform responsibly.
We may update these terms with 30 days' notice via email. Continuing to use PledgeOFF after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the European Union. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Romania unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection law.
